Originally from Portland, Oregon, Mathew grew up in a creative household where he was introduced to the world of visual arts from a young age. It was during his early twenties while living in San Francisco that his interest in photography grew, which led him to pursue a formal education in the subject. He enrolled in The Academy of Art's photo program and earned his BFA in 2007.

With over a decade of experience in the industry, Mathew continues to evolve as a photographer, always seeking to capture subjects and their stories genuinely and authentically. He is known for his personal projects, such as documenting life along the LA River, as well as his commercial work specializing in lifestyle, portraiture, and real people within their environment. Currently working locally in both Los Angeles and The Bay Area, Mathew brings a level of passion and dedication to every project, approaching each shoot with an open mind and an eagerness to create authentic, impactful images.
